Twenty years ago you could have counted the wineries in North Fauquier on the fingers of one hand. Today, you'd need a few spare hands to keep track of them and be ready to call in some more hands, because the number is growing.

Due to our climate, the lay of the land, soil conditions, and a whole lot of knowledge, skill, talent, luck and experience, wines that are being produced in North Fauquier are finding quite a following in the wine world. National and international awards have been won by some of the winemakers right here in our own backyard.

The vineyards of North Fauquier run the gamut of small and friendly Mom and Pop operations where you can meet the winemakers almost any weekend in person, to exclusive private wineries that require an appointment to make a visit. Most offer tastings (often for a fee) and many hold special events to make your visit more fun. A list linking you to our local winery websites may be found here.
